Mother's Day

This was my very 1st Mother's Day and it was wonderful! There is no better feeling than being a mother. I still can't believe how much I love Sadie more everyday.  We started off the morning by going to church.  She was so sweet in church! Never made a peep even when being passed around by the family.  After church we joined my parents for lunch at the country club.  Chip, Vanessa and Eliza came too.  We ended up getting a room because with a 10 and 12 week old, we didn't think the dining room would be very appropriate! We ate in shifts so while some ate the others held the babies.  It actually worked out very good.  After that we headed to Booneville.  I still have my great grandmother so we went there to the nursing home where she is to get a 5 generation picture.  It was very special and I know Sadie will appreciate it one day.  All of my Turner side of the family was there, so we got lots of pics.  Once we got home we were able to rest for about an hour before we headed to Tyler's parents for dinner. To say Sadie was exhausted and ill would be an understatement.  She was DONE.  She was quiet while we ate dinner while she was swinging but after we got done she cried and fussed for almost an hour, so we decided to go home.  She had been passed around all day and wasn't ever able to sleep longer than about 20 to 30 minutes.  Poor baby was tired! So I gave her a bath and she was out.  Matter of fact, that was the first time she slept completely through the night! 10pm to 7am.  She has been going from around 9:30 to 4:30 or 5am, which is technically considered "all night", but I like her sleeping until 7 much better :).

This weekend we are headed to Madison to see my "little" cousin get married.  I don't think I will ever be able to call my cousins on my mom's side of the family anything other than my "little cousins".  I can't help it.  They aren't little anymore for sure.  One is married with 2 kids, one getting married and the other graduating college! Just habit I guess.  So we have another busy weekend ahead.

Cat Napper

I have come to the conclusion that I have a precious little cat napper on my hands. Since she has been born, no matter what I do (hold, lay down, ride in the car etc...) she cat naps on and off all day until around 6ish, then she (normally) conks out for the rest of the night (minus when I wake her up for bath/last bottle). Sometimes she will take a good nap around 3 or so but it is not consistent. Our good "schedule" starts around then. Mornings are always a toss up. I talked with another mom I know and she said her son does the exact same thing. Cat naps all day then sleeps soundly at night. I hate to really complain because she does sleep SO good at night. This has never been a problem. Last night she went from 9:45pm to 5:00am. It was fabulous. And after 5 she went right back to sleep. No complaints here! I will be honest though, she is still in the bed with us. I have had mixed emotions from people on this subject. People tend to feel very strongly on their opinion on this. I have gotten a lot of "what are you doing?! Get her out now!" and "hey just do whatever works or you, no judgement here". People love to give parenting advice, which most of the time I am completely open to because I love to hear tricks that work for other people. I am willing to try, almost, anything at least once to see if it will work for whatever particular problem I may be having. Anybody know anything you think I should know...send the advice my way!! Although, I am a believer in "do what works best for you and your family" (within reason of course). No one thing/schedule works for every baby or every family. They are such unique amazing individuals right from the start. There is nothing more amazing than watching your child grow and develop every day! Children are a true blessing from above.
Ok, I think I have rambled enough:)

Instagram

When I got an iPhone a couple of months ago I downloaded Instagram. I have always loved pictures so this is right up my alley! My pictures early on are of Buster....they have recently changed to pictures of Sadie, of course! If you follow me on there you have probably already seen most of these pictures but I want to share on here as well.
Side note: I also discovered PicFrame which allows you to put more than one photo in a picture, which is even more fun.
Happy Tuesday:)

8 weeks old

May 1st little Sadie bug turned 8 weeks old! She is such a sweet, loving and snuggly baby.  She is smiling and cooing all the time now.  She loves to sit and "talk", especially while she is laying on her changing table.  Her nighttime/sleeping schedule these days is usually like this: bath around 8, bottle around 8:30, lay down for a bit, "dream feed" (usually around 2 or 3 oz) around 10:30 or so, wake around 3:30 then again around 7:30.  Of course our times can vary 30 minutes or so either way of those times depending on how the day goes.
We went for her check up on Wednesday and she is now 12.14 lbs and 23 3/4 inches long.  90th percentile in both areas.  Growing little girl! Everything else checked out just fine! Such a blessing.
