Happy Birthday Paula!

My mom's birthday was May 17th.  We celebrated at my house.  Us 3, Chip, Vanessa, Eliza and my dad all came over for dinner.  Chip and I planned the menu.  We had filet and shrimp kabobs, rice, salad and ice cream birthday cake for dessert! It was all DELISH.  We had such a good time and can't wait to celebrate many more with her!

There are never enough coupes to go around!

And shes over it...

Gum Tree 2013

Tyler ran in the Gum Tree this year for the first time ever.  He "conditioned" himself for about 4 weeks before the race.  He ran every now and then.  His goal for himself was to make it under an hour and he did it! He finished the race in around 53 minutes.  Go T!

Waiting on DaDa to cross the finish line...

This was me trying to catch him finish! He is right to the left of the pic :/ I tried

Mothers Day

Mothers Day has become so much more special since Sadie was born.  I always cherished the day because I was blessed with such an amazing mom but now that Sadie is here, its that much more special.  I never knew the love you could feel, not even just in your heart, but in your soul.  A mother's love is something unexplainable.  I am so glad God chose me to be the mom to such a sweet, lovable, funny and silly little girl.  She is the light of my life.  Okay enough of the gushy stuff....
Thursday night we went to dinner with Tyler's mother and grandmother at Longhorns.  Sunday, we went to church then came home so little miss could get a quick nap before we headed to lunch.

This is how trying to take pictures with a 1 year old goes...

Then she spotted the neighbor's cat...

She LOVES this cat
Between the cat and all the teeth she is cutting pics didn't go so well

So we changed location and this was as good as it got...

We went to lunch at Harveys with my parents. Yum! After lunch we headed to the park.  Sadie played all around, chased some ducks and did some swinging (which she loved).

Love this little angel:)

The swing was a hit!

After the park we came home for some nap time.  She slept for 2 hours! For dinner we headed over to my parents house for dinner with everyone.
I hope I get to spend many many MANY more Mother's Days with my mom and even more with my Sadie Lea:)

3 Year Anniversary

Tyler and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary on April 17.  That night we went to dinner at The Grill.  It was delish as always.  We started off our meal with the spring rolls, an all time favorite of mine.  I had the fish tacos, Tyler had a shrimp poboy and Sadie has a grilled cheese with fruit.
On Friday we headed over to Birmingham.  We didn't get in as early as we would have liked to, so once we got there we checked into our hotel, Homewood Inn and Suites.  Getting a suite worked out wonderful for us.  We were able put Sadie in her pack n play in the "living room" and shut the door.  That way we were able to not have to turn all the lights/tv out at 7:30pm (her normal bed time).  I recommend this place to anyone with children looking for somewhere to stay! We grabbed a quick bite to eat then headed back to the hotel for her to sleep and rest up for the big day!
Saturday morning we ate breakfast in the hotel then went back and got ready.  After her morning nap we headed to the Birmingham Zoo! It was so much fun.  Sadie seemed in awe.  She just stared and pointed. "oooooo" she was said.  It was adorable.  We definitely want to go back when she gets a little older so she can really know what is she experiencing.

Peek a Boo!

Sweet zoo girl

Really wanting her baby gorilla we had just bought her

After the zoo we headed to PF Changs in the Summit shopping area for lunch.  This is one of our all time favorite places.  We shared the lettuce wraps, crispy honey chicken and beef & broccoli (YUM).  I also had one of my favorite drinks ever, their Pear Mojito.  Delish.

This habit sure is becoming hard to break...

Chop stick fun!

Sadie had her afternoon nap then we headed out to do a little shopping.  For dinner we dined at Satterfields.  A small place in the Cahaba Heights area.  The food was divine. I had a filet and Tyler had grouper.  Oh emm geee....definitely a must if you are in the area. Sadie had been absolutely perfect the entire weekend...right up until this night.  She refused to sit in her high chair.  I think it was from having to sit and be held most of the day.  She needed to run free.  We were so thankful for the staff at this place.  They were amazing and so accomodating.  They ended up seating us on their outside dining area and gated off the entrance so Sadie couldn't escape.  I was a bit embarrassed but they honestly didn't seem to care.  It was a great ending to a wonderful weekend get away.

Sunday morning we got ready and headed out! Couldn't have gone any better:)
