2 Week Check Up

We went for Sadie's 2 week check up on Monday.  She weighed 9.8 lbs and was 20 1/4 inches long! Growing little girl! We are using Dr. Robertson at the Saltillo clinic.  He said she was "growing fabulously".  All good news :)
Tuesday, we had her newborn pictures done with Jill Carter out of Oxford.  She got there around 10 and because of little priss' mood that morning we weren't able to start until around 11:30 or so and it lasted until 2.  I can not wait to see the pictures! Once things got going, she acted perfect and Jill did an amazing job!
Having a newborn in the home is quite an adjustment, one that I am loving more than anything, but definitely an adjustment.  Sleep is a thing of the past.  I haven't slept for more than a 2 hour stretch in almost 3 weeks! Life 110% revolves around HER schedule! No more walking out the door! Its: is she clean? hungry? wet? dirty? do we have diapers/bottle/extra clothes/diaper bag/blanket/burp cloth etc.... ???? But I wouldn't have it any other way!! We fall more and more in love with her every day. I'll leave you with some pictures I have taken lately.....
sweet girl :)
I kiss these cheeks all day every day

Sadie's Grand Debut!

Sadie Lea Tucker made her grand debut March 1st, 2012 at 11:06pm.  When I went for my check up on that Tuesday, February 28th, I was starting to get borderline for preeclampsia/toxemia so Dr.Wonderful (Webb) decided to go ahead and induce on that Thursday.  Tyler and I arrived at the hospital that morning at 6am to get everything started. We got a slow start that day and things didn't move along as we had hoped they would, so around 10:30 pm it was decided that the only way to get her here was to have a c-section.  Things picked up quite dramatically then, with around 20 people in the room doing at least 20 different things, I was quickly moved back to surgery and Sadie made her debut at 11:06pm weighing 8 lbs 6 oz and 19 in long.  She was/is perfect! I think it all scared poor Tyler because once they decide that is what they are going to do, things get moving along pretty swift.  They ended up having to put me to sleep because the epidural wasn't taking so Tyler wasn't able to be in the room with me, poor thing had to sit out all alone just wondering what exactly was happening! It only takes about 15 minutes so it wasn't long before he had the little angel is his arms and everything was okay.  We stayed in the hospital for a few days and went home on Sunday.  Those few days kind of seem like a blur now.  It's like I remember and don't remember a lot all at the same time.  Since we have been home things have been going really good.  We went for her newborn check up today and she has already surpassed her birth weight.  She is up to 8 lbs 6 oz now! Big girl!  Lots of eating and sleeping going on around here these days! Everyone tells you, you never know how much you could love something until you have a child, and they are correct.  My every thought and move concerns her and I couldn't be any happier! We are absolutely in LOVE.

I will probably regret posting this but it shows just how swollen I had gotten!

My Sweet Niece

My sweet little angel niece, Eliza Lea Turner, was born on February 16, weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz and 21 inches! Vanessa and Chip went in that morning around 5:30 a.m. and she made her grand debut at 7:10 p.m.  Vanessa did a great job all day and was such a trooper! We were all so proud of her.  We are all in love with little Eliza and think she is absolutely precious.  Now if we could only bribe her cousin Sadie into getting here so they could go ahead and start being best friends!

Pics from the day and days following.....

FInal Countdown...for real...

We are officially on the final countdown.  Seriously.  Kinda nerve wracking to think about.  Knowing that in LESS than 2 weeks, I will already be back home with the little punkin! Amazing.  Everything is still going just fine, PTL.  When I went for my 36 week ultrasound they told me little priss was already weighing 7 lbs.  Most parts of her body were measuring 38 1/2 weeks...and at the time I was only 36...you do the math. So needless to say, we are expecting a fat chunky monkey come March 9th.  Which is just fine by me! Except for the fact that I feel that I am the size of a large cow and people remind me daily on just how big I have gotten.  I didn't really get into the "belly pic" pictures.  I'm okay with not remembering exactly how large I grew every week.  I may regret it one day but for now, I'm good.  I go for my 38 week check up tomorrow, hopefully we'll get some good news! Every one keep us in your prayers as we embark on this new wonderful journey of parenthood! We can't wait, come on little Sadie! We are ready for you!!

I am Sleepy

"I am sleepy" "I am tired" "My back hurts".....these are just a few of the statements that I feel like if I hear myself say them again I will scream! I hate (not actually hate) people who complain about things that they knew they were going to happen.  I have become one of those people.  Of course, I am tired.  Of course, I am sleepy.  Of course, my back hurts/aches.  These are just a few of the things that most will experience at the end of pregnancy.  I hate to complain but sometimes I just can't help it.  I really am all of these things, plus more, quite a bit of the time.  I knew what I was getting in to and that all of this is 100% part of it, but sometimes I just need to throw myself a little pity party.  I am actually very lucky/blessed that all of the symptoms I am feeling are completely normal and nothing abnormal is going on.  Another reason I hate to feel like I am complaining.  A lot of people have a lot worse things going on than me.  So I will sum up this random post by saying....I'm sleepy/tired and hurting but I am 100% okay with it because nothing is going wrong and in a few short weeks (less than 5 to be exact) there will be a precious angel here that makes it all more than worth it.

Here are 2 videos of her having a party in my belly the other night.....
(you'll see my white/swollen hand come in, in one of them, please excuse it ha)

Wonderful Sunday

This past Sunday I had my 1st baby shower thrown by some of my most favorite people in the world.  I thought there was a great turn out and was amazed by everyone's generosity.  Times like these show you how amazing those close to you are! Baby Sadie got some really great stuff.  I couldn't wait to get it home and go through everything.  Only 6.5 weeks left until she makes her grand arrival, unreal.

She decided one of Sadie's toys was going to be hers!

With the Hostesses, love these girls!

The next few weeks will be extremely busy.  We have a shower for Vanessa the next 2 weekends and then my shower at my church the next.  The following weeks after that I hope to do nothing and rest to prepare for little miss' arrival. I had my 32 week check up on Tuesday and everything is still going fine.  Just one of those in and out type of appointments, I spent 5 times as long waiting to see the doctor than actually seeing him.  I'm going every 2 weeks now and after my next appointment I will start going every week.  Crazy! I'm still feeling good except for the normal aches and pains.  I have been so blessed to have such a great pregnancy (except for the nausea but all in all, it wasn't TOO bad).
